NVOSS-IRAF

	This directory contains the IRAF-related distribution files
for the 2006 NVO Summer School software installation.  This is a highly
customized packaging of the IRAFNET V2.13-beta system, however it might 
also prove useful to general sites.

The "<arch>" is presently limited to 'linux' for Redhat and similar
systems, "osx" for Mac OS X (ppc) and 'macintel' (intel), and 'cygwin'
for Windows XP running Cygwin.  

	To use this distribution simply download and execute the
'iraf_install.csh' script as the root user.  The remaining files will be
retrieved and unpacked automatically.  Once complete, a fully operational
IRAF system should be installed on the machine along with 

	- XGterm as a terminal program, 
	- DS9 as the display server, 
	- a IRAFNET V2.13-beta system,
	- the STSDAS/TABLES external packages,
	- a new NVO external package
